How To Eliminate Your Child’s Tooth Pain

If your child experiences and is complaining a tooth is hurting, but they are not experiencing a fever or facial swelling, it's typically not an emergency situation. But this doesn’t mean that it may not be a serious issue, especially when it comes to your child.  There are a few steps that can be taken to help determine the cause of pain and it starts with talking to your child:

• Identify precisely where the pain is.
• Figure out how low they've been really feeling the pain
• Determine if they have incurred an injury to the mouth or any teeth recently.
• Look in their mouth as see if there is any obvious damage

Kids typically can’t tell their parents of what is wrong, so if the pain continues for a day, it is best to have a pediatric dentist check out the problem.  If the reason for teeth pain is a dental issue, it will likely become worse if left without treatment.
